Tourism is an economic driver for cities and local communities. We help you find what makes your place a place for visitors and guide you in attracting them.
In 2010 we delivered a Tourism Strategy for Blacktown City that built on their 2004 tourism strategy and identified opportunities and developed actions around future proposals associated with sporting venues and activities linked to tourism development.
There are a number of successful attractions in the Blacktown area, which attract significant numbers of visitors (many from outside the LGA) and also provide profile-building opportunities for Blacktown – locally, nationally and in some instances internationally. These include Featherdale Wildlife Park, Parklea Markets, Rouse Hill house and farm and Eastern Creek Motor Sport Precinct.
For investors in tourism and aligned product Blacktown is better placed than any other LGA to attract new tourism investment because of its location, convergence of M7 and M4, open and available spaces, multiple and various sporting facilities and venues and a council that has a proactive mindset.
Our tourism strategy confirmed that Blacktown City is well positioned to claim the title of sporting capital of Western Sydney.
