Cabramatta in Sydney’s western suburbs had a dubious reputation as a drug centre, an image perpetuated by negative media coverage which ignored many of the positive experiences and messages about Cabramatta and its unique cultural offer.

Our Tourism Action Plan succeeded in repositioning Cabramatta and attracting enduring tourism visitation and the continuing use of the brand promise “A Day Trip to Asia” – drawing on the dining, shopping and authentic Asian atmosphere.

We conducted a Place Audit, consulted with stakeholders and the community, undertook customer research, identified Cabramatta’s target markets, proposed an achievable budget and detailed a three year Action Plan, complete with specific tasks and budget allocations, to attract daytrippers to Cabramatta.

Our Tourism Action Plan was praised in the NSW Parliament for ‘setting realistic and practical proposals’
